Antwerpen-Centraal railway station is one of the great railway stations of the world. Designed by Bruge architect Louis Delacenserie and built between 1895 and 1905, the station has been dubbed the "Railway Cathedral" and its easy to see why. Every square meter of the station has been decorated, and it even has a diamond gallery with more than 30 diamond shops. Antwerpen-Centraal was originally designed as a terminal, but between 1998 and 2007 a tunnel was bored under the station to turn it into a through station allowing high-speed trains to travel between Amsterdam and Brussels; at the same time, the main terminal building was painstakingly restored to its original glory.
It is, in my opinion, best appreciated late at night after several very strong and beautiful Belgian trappist beers. In fact, if you look closely at these pictures, you can see that there are a few others that share my opinion.
