BANG & OLUFSEN: THE ART OF IMPOSSIBLE

The Art of Impossible
book was conceived, written, and photographed by Alastair Philip Wiper in close collaboration with Bang & Olufsen. Developed over several years, the project explores the company’s century-long pursuit of technological and aesthetic innovation — from radios and record players to speakers and televisions that have redefined the look and feel of modern living.

The book combines exclusive access to archives, prototypes, and production facilities with over 300 commissioned photographs and essays that trace the evolution of Bang & Olufsen’s guiding principle: design must always serve a purpose.

Founded in 1925 by Danish innovators Peter Bang and Svend Olufsen, Bang & Olufsen has spent a century redefining how technology looks, feels, and sounds. Their products — from radios and record players to speakers and televisions — have consistently challenged convention and shaped the visual language of modern living.
